The Jim Howe Memorial Run Ottawa Cross Country

The Hornet’s Nest Soccer Fields, Blackburn Hamlet, Ontario

5.5 km and 11 km cross country race through the woods at the Hornet’s Nest in memory of Jim Howe, who passed away in 1996. Jim was a long time National Capital Runners Association member, a respected figure in the running community and instrumental in helping establish the Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic.

Course Information

Where: The Hornet’s Nest Soccer Fields on 1660 Bearbrook Road in Blackburn Hamlet, approximately 1 km south of St. Joseph Blvd. in Gloucester.

Facilities: There are toilets but no change facilities. Light refreshments will be provided after the race.

Start Time: 10 am

Awards

5.5 km: 14 and under / 15-19 / 20-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60-69 / 70+
11 km: 19 and under / 20-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60-69 / 70+

Facilities

Entry Fee

Up to October 7, 2011:
$12 for Run Ottawa members / $17 for Non-members

October 8, 2011 to October 15, 2011:
$17 for Run Ottawa members / $22 for Non-members

Race Day: $30 for all
